The latest version of Release notes for 1.13.10 will always spell out the proper steps to get back a working version of uBO.

I see too many improper obsolete advices being top voted -- the official Release notes is what you need to read.

There is no update of uBO that will fix this issue, it's an issue specific to Firefox 55 and less: it has a bug in dealing with embedded webextensions -- reportedly fixed in Firefox 56.

Ideally, I would publish the pure webext version of uBO as soon as possible, but before this, the embedded webext (1.13.10) is necessary so that all your settings are migrated from legacy storage to webext storage.

Edit 1: I updated the Release notes after I experienced myself an installation problem when trying to shuffle uBO versions in order to test code changes. So see if the new steps work better for you if you still have the issue.

Edit 2: Just upgrade to 1.14.0, it's a pure webext, and does not suffer the issue of broken installation of webext-hybrid. It's on AMO, force a manual update if you still are with 1.13.10. 1.14.0 Release notes.

Edit 3: Legacy extensions can also interfere with proper function uBO/webext, see latest release notes.

I know there is an extension for that but what if i could just use 1 or a couple of filters instead of the extension? It is also future proofing for possible changes from the fb team. The only url that needs block is this https://www.instagram.com/stories/reel/seen

Ads are showing in Chrome but not in Firefox on the exact same pages with the exact same filters. What's going on?

Hello! I am aware that the seen feature in facebook inbox can easily be avoided by adding few filters to uBlock however can that same thing be done for the stories on messenger.com? Please help. Thank you.

I have the below list in the my filter section which blocks some session replay sites. When going directly to some sites like decibelinsight.net, quantummetric.com, https://www.inspectlet.com/ I get the normal ublock block page like it should. But some others like logrocket.com, mouseflow.com, which are formatted exactly the same do not. And when I visit those URL's the sites load right up. Any idea why this behavior is happening?

On a certain website, I occasionally get pop ups that open to "about:blank". I'm guessing a ad was going to use this pop up to display another ad but it got blocked and was just left with this blank page. Either way I can't universally block pop ups on this page because clicking on legit pictures pops them out and is considered a pop up and I don't want to block that. Is there any way just to block this pop up?

When using Firefox mobile v.61.0 on Android v.7.0, The promoted/sponsored posts on Reddit keep showing up. I've looked online and previous /r/uBlockOrigin posts for any custom filters that can help but none of them work.

The filter's I've tried are:

* www.reddit.com##article:has([class*="promoted"])

* www.reddit.com##.post:if(.PostHeader__promoted-flair)

* www.reddit.com##.size-compact.Post:has([class*=promoted])

* www.reddit.com##article:has(span[class="PostHeader__promoted-flair"])

* www.reddit.com##.XPromoAdFeed

I don't have any other Addons, and most of Ublock's settings are unchanged (all default filter lists are as-is, except I've enabled one more Annoyance list.)

I work in online marketing, so I need groups, pages, ads, individual profiles, etc, but my ADD allows me to get sucked into the news feed against my will.

Edit: As noted by u/valacar, the first line of this filter is overly aggressive and even blocks videos on a channel page, which may or may not be useful. I have commented this line out and replaced it with a filter that appears to dismiss recommendations and subscriptions and the like from the homepage, but that does not hide videos on channel pages. Note that these filters are still quite aggressive, and may filter out content (such as subscriptions) that is actually desired. Also, in an apparent effort to replace these dismissed items, YouTube spends time loading more on the homepage, which is potentially wasteful. Your mileage may vary.

Hİ, I have a brand new laptop with windows10 home basic and i3 presecessor. I installed the extension and I checked some filters but i feel like those filters drain the battery and causing a tacky browsing experience. (f.e host filters) so what filters i have to use to browse in most efficent and fastest way while saving battery? (I browse a lot of sites)

Thank you

youtube.com/watch*##.class does not work, and looking through the 3rd party filters, none of them have paths beyond .com

I've looked through adblock's filtering instructions, but I can't figure it out

I'd like to whitelist one DOM element on a page without totally disabling cosmetic filtering. Is this possible?

It would be ##.social-media-buttons

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is there any problem if I use all the list of filters added in uBlock? Does it make the browser slower? Is nano defender a great complement of UBO? Thank you all!

So I am trying to block an entire site on uBlockOrigin mobile, using this rule:

||getpocket.com$document

This works fine with uBlock Origin on my laptop, but does not work at all on uBlock Origin mobile, and the site still loads. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

I'll give an example to make this clearer.

I wanna be able to block abc.com when I'm on any website; but when I'm on abc.com, don't block it.

Can I do this? (from the GUI)

Thanks

This is a broken ad on youtube, but I sometimes get them before videos start: https://imgur.com/a/8wqgJIb

I have used uBock Origin for a while now, although with only the EasyList and Easy Privacy filter lists enabled.

I would like to try out and compare uBO's tracking protection. What list should I use for that?

Hi,

Need some some with blocking scum on this site --- hotstar.com

Right now, I want to know how to allow these 3 items with a regex (to take care of the changing numbers bit).

Hello fellow redditors. I'm wondering how do I go about blocking 'Optimonk'? It seems to be an onsite retargeting tool that I can't single out when I do 'block element'.

Here's an example: If you go to this link and scroll to the bottom, then scroll to the top an unblockable page loads. Right-clicking and 'blocking' element doesn't seem to work as the only selection is to block the entire page https://shop.smallpetselect.com/collections/hay-for-rabbits

Any help much appreciated!!!
